At the “2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards, (here onwards ‘MAMA’)”, 2NE1 was the group to receive one of the three daesangs (grand awards), the Song Of The Year award, for “I Am The Best”. The said “Music has no boundaries. We are a group that communicates with the world through our music“.

2NE1 on the 29th, after the grand ending of the 2011 MAMA held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium where the 2011 MAMA was held, there were interviews held in the Marina Bay Convention Centre for the winners. They said “The concert was very interesting and we’re very happy to receive these awards“

Aside from 2NE1, Super Junior won the award for “Album Of The Year” with their fifth album released last August entitled “Mr Simple” and SNSD received the award for “Artist Of The Year”.

Not only Korea but China, Japan, Singapore, America, etc, totalling 20 countries (13 with live recordings, 7 with broadcasts) had 1.9 billion people watching this year’s MAMA awards
